Healthy Homes Compliance

Comprehensive assessments ensuring your property meets all five Healthy Homes Standards — heating, insulation, ventilation, moisture, and draught stopping.

The Five Standards

What We Assess

Every property is evaluated against the five pillars of the Healthy Homes Standards. Our assessments identify exactly where compliance is met and where improvements are needed.

Heating

Properties must have a fixed heating device capable of maintaining a temperature of at least 18°C in the main living area.

Fixed heater in main living room
Minimum 18°C heating capacity
Acceptable heater types assessed
Heat pump or compliant device

Insulation

Ceiling and underfloor insulation must meet minimum R-values specified under the Healthy Homes Standards.

Condition and coverage review

Ventilation

Adequate ventilation through opening windows, extractor fans in kitchens and bathrooms, and rangehoods where applicable.

Moisture & Drainage

Properties must have efficient drainage and moisture management to prevent dampness and associated health risks.

Guttering and downpipes
Ground moisture barriers
Drainage adequacy
Subfloor ventilation

Draught Stopping

All unnecessary gaps and holes in walls, ceilings, windows, floors, and doors must be sealed to prevent draughts.
